S1 Diabetes in Asia I The burden of diabetes & diabetes care in Asia |
15:30~17:30 / Thursday 10 October Convention hall A Chairman:Nam Han Cho, Nader Lessan |
Overview |
---|---|---|
Organizers: Hye Jin Lee, Tae Seo Sohn This session titled, The burden of diabetes & diabetes care in Asia, is a clinical session that is designed to provide an opportunity for clinicians to understand epidemiology of diabetes in Asia. Asian countries contribute to more than 60% of the world's diabetic population as the prevalence of diabetes is increasing in these countries. In this session, the rising trend in prevalence of diabetes, diabetes care, and socio-economic burden in each Asian country will be presented and discussed. This session will be the first step toward a better understanding epidemiology of diabetes in Asia. |

13:20~15:20 / Friday 11 October Diamond hall Chairman:Sang Ah Chang, Heiko Bugger |
Overview |
---|---|---|
Organizers: Hyun Jin Kim This session titled, Cognitive dysfunction in diabetes is a translational session that is designed to provide an opportunity for clinicians and basic researchers to understand potential pathophysiology and clinical implications of cognitive dysfunction in patients with diabetes. The speakers will give lectures and discuss the mechanisms linked with metabolic dysfunction, and characteristics of Korean patients about cognitive impairment in diabetes. This session will be a meaningful step to find the preventive strategies and therapeutic targets. |

S11 Diabetes in Asia 2 A shared vision to overcome diabetes in Asia |
16:20~18:00 / Friday 11 October Convention hall A Chairman:Seihyun Baik, Shashank Joshi |
Overview |
---|---|---|
Organizers: Committee of international liaison This session titled, 'A shared vision to overcome diabetes in Asia' is a clinical session and designed to make an international occasion for gathering of Asian experts (clinicians and epidemiologic researchers) in diabetes care. The representatives from more than 6 countries from all over the Asia will present and discuss their experience in diabetes prevention, epidemiology and their healthcare system. The ultimate goal of this session resides in continuous collaboration and friendship among the Asian countries and diabetes societies in the prevention and management of diabetes in Asia in the future. |

S16 Cardiovascular remodeling What is the attractive target for the prevention of diabetic cardiovascular disease?: kinase, phosphatase, mitochondria, or cell |
16:20~18:00 / Friday 11 October Diamond hall Chairman:In Joo Kim , Iichiro Shimomura |
Overview |
---|---|---|
Organizers: Jaetaek Kim This session titled, What is the attractive target for the prevention of diabetic cardiovascular disease?: kinase, phosphatase, mitochondria, or cell is a translational session that is designed to provide an opportunity for clinicians and basic researchers to understand pathophysiology of diabetic cardiovascular complications. Diabetic patients exhibit accelerated macrovascular disease, an effect that significantly contributes to increased cardiovascular events. As such, there has been a strong interest in understanding, at a molecular level, the mechanisms that increase the vulnerability of the heart and vasculature to injury in the context of diabetes. The invited speakers will present their recent works which will offer new targets for an early detection and a therapeutic intervention for cardiovascular complications of diabetes. |

Overview |

As an essential component of life, the inflammatory process would be everywhere all over the human body. This session was designed to glance some interesting viewpoints surrounding inflammation. Physical stress and exosomal signal might regulate inflammation. Non-regenerative neurons could be old and broken due on tiny little inflammation just for the living. The more we look around, the clearer it is: we need to control carefully with sufficient contrast, rather than simply suppressing. |
